Report of Task Force 2021 and Beyond
This report captures the final recommendations of MIT Task Force 2021 and Beyond, charged by President Rafael Reif in May 2020 to reimagine and reposition the Institute for the post-Covid world. These recommendations reflect a broad range of ideas intended to build a better MIT for students, staff, faculty, and many others beyond campus, and are a result of a 16-month effort involving more than 200 members of the MIT community. During the second phase of the task force, 16 Refinement and Implementation Committees developed recommendations for implementing ideas that emerged during the first phase. That output was compiled into this report, which President Reif shared with the MIT community on November 4, 2021.
